Rahul Welde is the Vice President - Media at Unilever for
the Asia, Africa, Middle East, Turkey and Russia region.
The role covers areas of Media Strategy, Planning and
Buying. It includes shaping the overall approach in the
context of rapidly changing landscape and driving the agenda
through a network of agencies and media partners.
Unilever is the leading advertiser in the region with strong
presence across countries. Media investments are a key growth
driver and a focus area in the region.
Rahul is a strong advocate of non-traditional thinking and
has applied this in communication and media. He has extensive
experience in spearheading new initiatives in media innovation,
media effectiveness and measurement. A number of media
projects under his stewardship have received wide acclaim and
recognition in recent times. The approach has resulted in Unilever
winning an unprecedented number of awards apart from strong
contribution to business growth.
Rahul has worked with Unilever since 1991 and has
benefited from diverse exposure and challenging assignments across
businesses and functions. A keen observer of the mega-trends
he is a firm believer of 'new and different thinking' and
'execution excellence'. These two dimensions underline his passion
for personal and professional growth.
Rahul is also actively involved in industry issues and is
the Regional VP Media and Marketing for The World Federation of
Advertisers (WFA).
