Finished high school in Hong Kong. Graduated with BA
degree in Advertising (with Honours) from Texas Tech University in
1976. Started work with Lintas Thailand in the same year as
Media Planner and moved on to become Account Executive.
Switched to marketing in 1980 as Brand Manager at Hoechst Thai, a
German pharmaceutical company. Returned to advertising in
1985 joining Amex & Grey Advertising as Account Group
Director. Rejoined Lintas, now LOWE, in 1988 as Media
Planning Associate Director. Promoted to Executive Vice
President for Media Planning in 1997.
LOWE media department became Initiative Ltd. as
of Oct 2, 2000. Wannee became Managing Director of this
company and progressed on to become Chairman in 2006.
Under her leadership Initiative Bangkok office
won "Agency of the Year" from Initiative AP network consecutively
from 2004-2006 for delivering consistent growth, best profit, and
the most innovative agency. Wannee was voted "Boss of the
year" in 2006 by reporters and Boss Magazine, an affiliate of RS
Public Co. Ltd., under Advertising Agency category. In 2010,
RECMA published Thailand agency Quality Evaluation score and
Initiative is rated as the no. 1 quality agency. Under the
leadership of Wannee, UM turns around from a negative operation and
had grown 14 times its revenue vs when it first moved over from
McCann World Group in 2008.
In 2008, IPG (Interpublic Group, the holding
company of Initiative) formed Mediabrands, sharing resources of
Initiative and UM. Initiative Ltd. was renamed to IPG
Mediabrands Ltd. when UM became part of this operation.
In 2011, IPG consolidated its companies in
Thailand. IPG Mediabrands Ltd. becomes the 3rd
branch of IPG Advertising (Thailand) Ltd. The first two
branches being Lowe and McCann World Group.
